The Michigan State women’s golf team finished in second place among 18 other teams at the Big Ten Championship. The team shot a five-over-par with a 293 in the final round.

Senior Brikke Biermann led the team, finishing in fourth place at three-under-par 213, and had a strong back nine with three birdies. Biermann tied for second place with a back-to-back on the 14th and 15th holes and a bogey on 18. 

Senior Katie Lu had her second straight round of one-over-par 73 on Sunday and tied for 15th place at two-over-par 218.

Sophomore Anna Sofia Murcia struggled in the final round with a nine-over-par 81 and was tied for 57th place at 11-over-par 227. 

Michigan State women’s golf has won six of the last 13 Big Ten Championships and has 14 in total. Under head Coach Stacy Slobonik-Stoll, the Spartans have a total of eight titles (2001, 2007, 2011, 20212, 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2021). The team has also won five consecutive Big Ten Titles from 1974-78 and finished in the top four at the Big Ten Championship in the last 16 to 19 years. 

Last year, MSU shot 13-over-par 297 in the final round and tied for sixth place at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh. In 2023, the Spartans won the NCAA Palm Beach Regional and advanced in the 2023 NCAA championship.
