SAUK RAPIDS — Kennedy Mara had a memorable day at a Central Lakes Conference meet Tuesday at Wapicada Golf Club.

The Willmar junior earned medalist honors with an even-par 72, helping Willmar to a third-place team finish at the meet hosted by the St. Cloud Crush.

Willmar shot a 347 to finish behind first-place Detroit Lakes, which had a 316, and second-place Alexandria, which shot 337.

“(It was a) great first conference meet,” Willmar head coach Bryan Mara said. “(We had) great rounds from Raelynn Means and Lily Jorgenson (who shot a 93). (I’m) proud of the team. Kennedy Mara was the medalist and played exceptionally.

“Wapicada is a difficult track and it was very windy and cold.”

Detroit Lakes’ Sophia Christianson was second with a 74 and Rachel Bowen of Alexandria took third with a 77.

Raelynn Means shot an 88 to finish 15th for Willmar.

Willmar competes in the New London-Spicer Invitational at 10 a.m. Thursday at Little Crow Country Club in Spicer.

New London-Spicer topped Annandale 150-171 in a Wright County Conference dual because of four top-five finishes at Little Crow Country Club.

Blake Kath led the way for the Wildcats, carding a meet-low 36.

Kath’s medalist honors effort was followed by teammates Palmer Dalton, who shot a 37 to share second place with Annandale’s Gavin Dahle, and Max Truscinski and Reid Kath, who placed fourth and fifth with a 38 and 39.

New London-Spicer squeaked past Annandale in a Wright County dual at Southbrook Golf Club.

Evangeline Dalton led the Wildcats by tying for second place with Annandale’s Isabelle Dingmann. Both golfers carded matching 45s.

Rylie Harrier, Hattie Bohlsen and Layna Carlson finished fourth, fifth and sixth for NLS. Harrier shot a 48, Bohlsen came in at 50 and Carlson rounded out the top four Wildcat scores with a 51.

Annandale’s Bailey Broich earned medalist honors with a dual-low 43.

Dassel-Cokato edged Litchfield 172-176 in a Wright County Conference dual at Litchfield Golf Club.

Although the Dragons had three golfers fill the top 5, Dassel-Cokato’s Bjorn Anderson earned medalist honors behind a meet-low 39. Jack Pudas also tied Litchfield’s Judah Allen for third place as both golfers carded 43s.

Also in the top 5 for the Dragons were Ty Olson, who placed second with a 41, and Carstan Milender, who finished in fifth at 44.

Watertown-Mayer had three of the top six golfers en route to winning the Dassel-Cokato Invitational at Albion Ridges Golf Course.

The Royals scored a 205, low enough to beat Litchfield’s 218 and the Chargers’ 223.

Litchfield saw two of its golfers finish in the top six. Addysen Zens and Kate Brekke both carded 52s to earn a share of third place with Dassel-Cokato’s Graice Hanson.

Dawson-Boyd saw four of its golfers finish in the top five as the Blackjacks secured a first-place finish in the Marshall Invitational at Marshall Golf Club.

Lindsey Lund, Kylar Hjelmeland and Alyssa Swedzinski were the top three finishers, helping Dawson-Boyd score a meet-low 328. Marshall was second at 391 and Murray County Central placed third with 399. Lac qui Parle Valley finished fourth (406) and BOLD was sixth (438).

Lund earned medalist honors by carding a 77, which was followed by Hjelmeland’s 79 and Swedzinski’s 82. Claire Stratmoen, another Blackjack golfer, tied LQPV’s Molly Halvorson for fifth place. Both earned 90s.

Peyton Sachs also secured a top-10 placing for the Eagles, tying for 10th place with a 96.
