Until Sunday, Tiger Woods was the only golfer in the history of the PGA Tour to surpass $100 million in career earnings. Now he has company.
Rory McIlroy finished tied for fifth at the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open, taking home $337,844 in the process. That moved him past the $100 million threshold in career earnings on the PGA Tour to $100,046,906.
Woods has earned $120,999,166 in his career and is a big reason why purses have grown drastically since the turn of the century. Scottie Scheffler, whose first win on Tour came in 2022, is fifth on the all-time money list with just north of $75 million in earnings. Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson are third and fourth, respectively.
Five of the top 10 in career earnings have played on the PGA Tour this year, and If you count Woods as an active player, that’s six of 10. Justin Thomas, Jason Day, Matt Kuchar, Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele make up Nos. 11-15.
Just in 2025, McIlroy has earned a hair over $9 million, half of that coming via his $4.5 million payday for winning his second Players title. After 14 PGA Tour events the first three months of the year, 59 players have earned at least $1 million.
