Manchester United returned to winning ways with a 2-1 comeback triumph over Leicester City in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday.

The Red Devils did not register a shot on target in the opening half. Leicester were deservedly 1-0 ahead at the half-time interval.

United fared better after the restart. Alejandro Garnacho was unlucky as he was denied a clear-cut goal by a superb goal-line clearance.

The club eventually bagged the equaliser through Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutchman was in the right position to capitalise on a rebound.

United won the game in the dying stages of stoppage time. Harry Maguire headed home the winner from a Bruno Fernandes freekick.

The centre-back was clearly offside, but there was no VAR to overturn the incident.

Zirkzee came on in the 62nd minute to replace Kobbie Mainoo yesterday. The Dutchman played alongside Rasmus Hojlund up front.

His positional awareness contributed to the equaliser. He worked hard defensively, winning seven (out of 10) duels and four (out of 5) tackles.

The Dutchman also completed 100 percent of his take-ons. Alongside Garnacho, Zirkzee stepped off the bench to make a big difference.

Zirkzee, who received an 8/10 rating from Manchester Evening News, should be in the starting XI when United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next weekend.

The former Bologna man produced one of the best performances of his United career. Hopefully, he can carry the momentum into future games.

It will be interesting to see whether manager Ruben Amorim will play Zirkzee and Hojlund together or pick the former to lead the line on his own.
