**UPDATED AS OF TUESDAY, 8 SEPTEMBER AT 4 PM ET**
AFC East
◆ Buffalo Bills
Khalil Shakir – WR (undisclosed)
Shakir has missed a significant portion of the end of camp with an undisclosed injury, but there is optimism surrounding the team that he will be available for Week 1 against the Texans.
Impact: Expect the veteran slot receiver to continue to rotate through the Buffalo pass catching corps behind free agent acquisition DJ Moore, leaving little weekly fantasy upside.
◆ Miami Dolphins
Chris Bell – WR (knee)
Bell was activated from the active/non-football injury list in the middle of August as he makes his way back from a torn ACL.
Impact: Bell enters the regular season on the initial 53-man roster but likely isn’t ready for a full workload on game day just yet. Expect him to be eased into the fold as a rotational piece with Jalen Tolbert.

◆ New England Patriots
TreVeyon Henderson – RB (ankle)
Henderson missed consecutive practices to start the week of preparations for the season-opener against the Seahawks. The team will release its final injury report later Tuesday.
Impact: Henderson appears to be in legitimate danger of missing Week 1 against the Seahawks. Rhamondre Stevenson would be in line for a borderline workhorse role should Henderson miss considering the only other back currently on the roster is recent trade acquisition Corey Kiner, who has been with the team less than two weeks.
◆ New York Jets
The Jets enter the 2026 regular season healthy from a skill position player standpoint.

AFC North
◆ Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are absent significant injuries to their skill position corps.
◆ Cincinnati Bengals
Ja’Marr Chase – WR (knee)
Chase planted awkwardly following an incompletion in a camp practice but was present for practice Monday.
Impact: Chase appears to have avoided significant injury and is tracking to play, without restrictions, in Week 1 against the Buccaneers.
Tee Higgins – WR (heel contusion)
Higgins was also seen participating in practice Monday.
Impact: The team should have their top two receivers on the field when they open their season against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

◆ Cleveland Browns
Isaiah Bond – WR (concussion)
The second-year receiver was evaluated for a concussion in their final preseason game. He was seen practicing Monday.
Impact: Bond should be ready to go for Week 1 when the Browns take on the Jaguars. That said, rookies Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion and veteran Jerry Jeudy are listed as starters on the team’s initial depth chart. Bond appears to be looking at a rotational role, at best, to start the season.
◆ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers appear to be entering the 2026 regular season absent significant injuries.
AFC South
◆ Houston Texans
Tank Dell – WR (knee)
Dell will begin the season on injured reserve.
Impact: Dell will miss the first four games of the regular season, at minimum. Expect Jaylin Noel to serve as the primary slot receiver while newcomer Kayshon Boutte starts on the perimeter opposite Nico Collins, for the time being.

Jayden Higgins – WR (knee)
Higgins saw his 2026 season taken from him due to a torn ACL suffered in camp.
Impact: It’s a massive blow to a Texans team that was counting on Higgins taking another step forward in his Sophomore campaign. The team traded from Kayshon Boutte in the wake of the injury.
◆ Indianapolis Colts
Alec Pierce – WR (ankle)
Per reports, Pierce is expected to be active in Week 1 against the Ravens.
Impact: Pierce missed the bulk of the offseason program and preseason, making is less likely his role materially grows after signing a four-year contract extension. That leaves Josh Downs as the player most likely to take on an expanded role in the offense. Even so, Pierce should take the field when games begin to count.

◆ Jacksonville Jaguars
LeQuint Allen Jr. – RB (soft tissue)
Speaking to media on September 2, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said he would be “pleasantly surprised” if Allen were able to suit up for Week 1. We’re still waiting on an official injury designation, which should come Wednesday when the team releases their first true injury report of the season.
Impact: Allen’s third-down role appears more likely to fall onto Bhayshul Tuten‘s shoulders rather than Chris Rodriguez, adding to Tuten’s floor and ceiling for opening weekend. Fantasy managers will want to track the team’s injury reports closely this week, but it certainly appears likely that Allen misses Week 1, at minimum.
◆ Tennessee Titans
The Titans appear to be absent major injuries to begin the regular season.

AFC West
◆ Denver Broncos
Sean Payton’s Broncos appear to be at full strength heading into the regular season.
◆ Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes- QB (knee)
The belief in the organization is that Mahomes will play in Week 1 against the Broncos.
Impact: Mahomes appears on track to start the season under center for the Chiefs after recovering from a torn ACL. While the wouldn’t be any physical limitations for Mahomes should he be active in Week 1, there is a legitimate chance the team takes a more run-heavy approach as Mahomes works his way back to full game speed. That is clearly the biggest boost to the early-season upside of running back Kenneth Walker.

◆ Las Vegas Raiders
Ashton Jeanty – RB (ankle)
Jeanty suffered an ankle injury in camp that was initial thought to be much worse. He now has a chance to suit up in Week 1 after dodging a more significant injury.
Impact: Although Jeanty appears headed in the right direction for Week 1, fantasy managers will want to track his practice status throughout the week closely. Furthermore, rookie Mike Washington appears to have carved out a role in the offense during preseason, something that could influence the second-year back’s workload and weekly range of outcomes to start the season.
◆ Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers appear to be healthy entering the new season.

NFC East
◆ Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys enter the 2026 regular season healthy.
◆ New York Giants
Malik Nabers – WR (knee)
Nabers suffered a torn ACL in Week 4 of the 2025 season. Per recent reports, he appears to “have a chance” to play in Week 1 against the Cowboys.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy managers will want to confirm Nabers’ level of participation in practice this week, but it appears as if he will be on the field for the Giants for Sunday Night Football.
◆ Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles experienced a few offseason injuries but enter the regular season healthy.
◆ Washington Commanders
The Commanders do not have any meaningful injuries at this time.

NFC North
◆ Chicago Bears
Rome Odunze – WR (leg)
Odunze has yet to practice this week as he tends to a mysterious “leg” injury suffered sometime last week. Head coach Ben Johnson is “hopeful” he will be available for Week 1 against the Bears.
Impact: An absence from Odunze would be a massive boost to both Luther Burden and Colston Loveland, but fantasy managers will need to wait and see what the team releases on its first injury report Wednesday.
◆ Detroit Lions
Isiah Pacheco – RB (back)
Pacheco was placed on injured reserve to start the season. General Manager Brad Holmes said he “hopes Pacheco returns this season.”
Impact: Well, that doesn’t sounds great. There appears to be something more insidious going on with Pacheco’s back than initially thought. Jacob Saylors and Sione Vaki will compete for the primary backup role behind Jahmyr Gibbs. On that note, Gibbs is the clear No. 1 overall fantasy pick in the final days of fantasy drafts.
◆ Green Bay Packers
Josh Jacobs – RB (commissioner exempt list)
Jacobs was placed on the commissioner exempt list amidst troubling domestic violence allegations. His initial court date was recently moved up from November to September 10.
Impact: The commissioner exempt list brings a wide range of outcomes regarding how many games we expect Jacobs to miss this season. That said, the fact that his initial court appearance was moved up near the start of the regular season could allow the league additional motivation to levy a suspension, pending the outcome of his appearance. Either way, don’t expect Jacobs on the field any time soon, leaving MarShawn Lloyd as the lead back in the interim.

The Vikings enter the regular season absent major injury.

NFC South
◆ Atlanta Falcons
Michael Penix Jr. – QB (Knee)
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Penix “did not believe that he was ready” to play in Week 1 against the Steelers.
Impact: Tua Tagovailoa was named the starter for the Falcons in Week 1, which is something now apparently out of necessity more than him “winning” any sort of camp battle. We expect Penix to almost immediately take over under center, once healthy enough to do so.

◆ Carolina Panthers
Jonathan Brooks – RB (soreness)
Brooks has not fully participated in practice for almost a Week as he tends to “general soreness.” He returned in some capacity Monday, working to the side with trainers.
Impact: Brooks shot up offseason draft boards as Chuba Hubbard dealt with small injuries, with the tables now turning. Either way, this backfield appears destined for a muddied timeshare. Fantasy managers will want to track Brooks’ level of participation in practice this week, with it possible he enters the weekend with an injury designation.
◆ New Orleans Saints
Alvin Kamara – RB (knee)
Kamara appears destined to be a game-day inactive in Week 1 while working through a knee injury.
Impact: The expectation is that Kamara will miss Week 1 against the Lions, leaving newcomer Travis Etienne as the largest beneficiary. The matchup against the Lions is poor on paper, but there won’t be many backs with as large of a workload projection as Etienne in Week 1.
Jordyn Tyson – WR (hamstring)
Tyson begins the regular season on injured reserve. He will miss the first four games of the season, at minimum.
Impact: Devaughn Vele should begin the season in the starting lineup opposite Chris Olave, with both players routinely used in the slot. Olave’s weekly range of outcomes rivals almost any receiver in the league for as long as Tyson remains out, while tight end Juwan Johnson should return weekly TE1 finishes.

◆ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Emeka Egbuka – WR (Toe)
Egbuka suffered a turf toe injury in camp and has missed the previous three weeks. He was seen participating in practice Monday.
Impact: Egbuka still appears likely to draw a game-day injury designation for Week 1 after missing so much time in camp, something fantasy managers will want to track as the weekend nears. As things currently stand, we tentatively expect Egbuka to suit up against the Bengals.
NFC West
◆ Arizona Cardinals
Jeremiyah Love – RB (ankle)
Love has missed the previous four weeks of preseason and camp after suffering an ankle injury in the team’s first preseason game. Head coach Mike LaFleur said Monday he “feels good” about Love’s availability in Week 1.
Impact: Tyler Allgeier was listed as the starter on the team’s unofficial depth chart for Week 1, which makes sense when taken in context with Love’s missed camp time. That also signals the potential for Love to be eased into game action, should he ultimately gain clearance to play in Week 1 against the Chargers. Either way, the talented rookie appears to be fighting an uphill battle for the start of his first professional season.

◆ Los Angeles Rams
The Rams appear healthy heading into a Week 1 game against the 49ers in Australia.
◆ San Francisco 49ers
George Kittle – TE (Achilles)
The expectation is that Kittle will suit up against the Rams in Week 1, a notion reinforced by OC Klay Kubiak Monday.
Impact: Kittle appears to be in line to start the season amongst the game-day actives after tearing his Achilles a season ago. That said, the expectation remains that the team will ease him into action to begin the season.
Mike Evans – WR (multiple)
Impact: Evans experienced multiple issues this offseason, limiting his time in camp to sporadic spurts. Even so, the veteran X-receiver profiles to return value for fantasy drafters when on the field. The trick will be keeping the 33-year-old on the field consistently.
Ricky Pearsall – WR (knee)
Pearsall was placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Impact: Pearsall will miss the entirety of the 2026 season, opening a more clear path for De’Zhaun Stribling to contribute during his rookie season.
◆ Seattle Seahawks
Zach Charbonnet – RB (knee)
Charbonnet will begin the season on the physically unable to perform list, although the team remains optimistic he will be able to beat his initial recovery timeline.
Impact: Rookie Jadarian Price is poised to being the season as the primary back in Seattle, with George Holani on hand to soak up change of pace reps. The team appears content to keep the situation fluid and without a true workhorse, similar to the way they handled Kenneth Walker and Charbonnet last season. Even so, Price is positioned well to return value weekly for fantasy drafters that invested a sixth-round pick in his services this offseason.
