While the Biltmore Championship is a Presidents Cup tune-up for seven players in the field, a $5 million purse and FedExCup Fall points are still the primary driving factors behind the PGA Tour’s inaugural tournament in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains this week.
Asheville is the first of eight fall events awarding the winner a $900,000 payday and 500 FedExCup points. And as for those points, a reminder: Players inside the top 100 in FedExCup Fall standings get full status for next year, with Nos. 51-60 qualifying for the first two signature events next year (the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational).
