Itching for a little more PGA Tour golf? Well, you’re in luck. The tour kicks off its eight-event Fall Series this week with the inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. This will be the tour’s first time back in North Carolina hamlet since 1942 and will features a handful of Presidents Cup players on both sides of the international duel looking to get in some prep before next week’s event at Medinah No. 3
Leading the charge for the Americans are 21-year-old Jackson Koivun and Jacob Bridgeman, as well as five pros on the International side. Captains’ assistants Taylor Pendrith and Camilo Villegas are also set to tee it up. Bridgeman is the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 28. The only other top-50 OWGR pro competing is J.T. Poston (No. 38).

For most of those playing in the Fall Series events, the competition will focus on making sure you remain inside the top 100 in the FedEx Cup points lists and thus assuring full PGA Tour playing privileges for 2027. Among familiar names circling the top 100 bubble are Tony Finau, Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover.
Another storyline to follow is that of Brendan Valdes, who is in the field on a sponsor’s exemption. Valdes is playing after a nine-month break due to primary mediastinal lymphoma. He was declared cancer-free in early June and is coming off three made cuts at the events he played last season.
This week’s winner will receive a $900,000 cut of the $5 million purse.

The Cliffs at Walnut Cove is a Jack Nicklaus design in a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Pisgah National Forest. The course sits over 2,000 feet above elevation with wider playing corridors to be playable for all levels of players, but a number of bunkers that challenge the better players within landing zones. The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, which opened in 2005, will get its first taste of the limelight with a new event on the PGA Tour in 2026 as the kick off event of the fall.
