Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Wolves forward Fábio Silva for a fee in the region of €27m.

The 23-year-old signed for the Midlands club from Porto back in 2020 and has made a little over 70 appearances in that time, scoring five goals.

He has had loan spells at Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers and Las Palmas in recent seasons but has now completed a permanent switch to the Bundesliga.

Roma and AC Milan were among the other European clubs keen on the player, but Dortmund acted quickly to get a deal over the line before the transfer deadline.

Silva’s arrival at the Westfalenstadion comes after the signings of Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino from Chelsea, full-back Yan Couto from Manchester City and Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland earlier in the window.

Niko Kovač’s side drew their opening Bundesliga fixture against St. Pauli last time out, but did progress into the second round of the DFB-Pokal with a narrow victory over Essen earlier this month.
