Gustavo G贸mez continues to write his name in the history of Palmeiras and the Libertadores.
With the goal scored against Universitario, from Peru, the Paraguayan reached 13 goals in the competition, tying the Chilean Rub茅n Espinoza as the defender with the most goals in the history of the Libertadores.
But that’s not all. The alviverde captain also isolated himself as the defender with the most goals in the history of Palmeiras, with 40 balls in the net, leaving behind legendary names like Lu铆s Pereira and Cl茅ber.
In the main club tournament on the continent, Gustavo G贸mez is the third top scorer of the club, behind only Rony (21) and Raphael Veiga (17).
And in the 21st century, the 32-year-old Paraguayan is already the 9th top scorer of the Verd茫o, even being a defender, behind Vald铆via (41 goals), Gustavo Scarpa (44 goals), Flaco L贸pez (47 goals), Vagner Love (54 goals), Willian Bigode (66 goals), Rony (70 goals), Dudu (88 goals) and Raphael Veiga (105 goals).
Incredible, right? Who can stop the goal-scoring defender?
