Lelê equalized for the Dragão shortly after, at the 34th minute.
And he playfully teased Marcus Vinícius at the end of the first half:
“First of all, I want to thank God for the opportunity to be playing and to score the goal. I think our team did very well. We conceded a bit of a fluke goal, but the team managed to hold up well.”
Interviewed right after, Marcus Vinícius assured: there was prior study to create the opportunity to score:
“Happy for the goal, my second of the season. We go through tough times, but the important thing is to get out of them as soon as possible. Lelê is lost (laughs). We studied the goalkeeper, we knew he would be a bit off his line. And I was a bit lucky too, to hit the ball well and score a beautiful goal.”
Avaí is down to ten men after Jonathan Costa was sent off at the 42nd minute.
