It’s a day to forget for Major League Soccer side D.C. United after only half an hour on Saturday.
The club welcomes Charlotte FC to town and has seen not one but two players earn direct red cards early on, the first of which was a bizarre error from Luis Barraza.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper came outside his box by a significant margin and grabbed the ball as the visitors were looking to find the opening goal. Handling the ball as such, saw Barraza sent packing after 21 minutes.
Then, about 10 minutes later, Aaron Herrera was the next to be sent off. The forward was in a physical altercation with Wilfried Zaha before opting to headbutt the Charlotte star right in front of the referee.
Two moments of chaos for the club.
