Having won the first leg 1-0, Timão can advance to the quarter-finals with a draw.
Verdão, on the other hand, needs to win by two goals to qualify. If Palestra wins by one goal, the spot will be decided on penalties.
As coach Abel Ferreira fielded a completely reserve team in the 2-2 draw with Vitória in the Brasileirão, compared to the first leg, Micael replaced Bruno Fuchs in Palmeiras.
Coach Dorival Júnior adopted the same strategy as the rival, as he played with a reserve team in the 1-1 draw with Fortaleza. The former National Team coach, in fact, sends the same starters from the match in the NQA to the field.
