Palmeiras takes the field this Wednesday (17), at 9:30 PM (BrasĂlia time), at the Monumental de NĂșñez Stadium, for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the 2025 Conmebol Libertadores Cup.
The return match will be played next Wednesday (24), at Allianz Parque, at the same time.
Leader of Group G with 18 points, VerdĂŁo eliminated Universitario in the previous round, with a 4-0 win in Peru and a 0-0 draw at home.
The Argentinians, meanwhile, finished first in Group B with 12 points and got past Libertad (0-0 and 1-1, winning 3-1 on penalties) in the round of 16.
Compared to the last match (a 4-1 win over Internacional in the BrasileirĂŁo), coach Abel Ferreira chose only to bring in Andreas Pereira in place of Facundo Torres for Palmeiras.
This is the first time the midfielder starts as a starter for VerdĂŁo.
