It has been an emotional day for Inter Miami following the passing of Lionel Messiās father, Jorge Messi.
And, with Messi absent from Saturdayās match against Monterrey, there was simply no better way for Rodrigo De Paul to honour his close friend and teammate.

De Paul scored the opening goal for Miami, driving a low, long-range strike into the bottom-left corner.
The veteran midfielder ran away in celebration while removing his shirt to reveal Messiās iconic number ten underneath.
The pair recently reached the World Cup final together as teammates with Argentina.
It was fitting, therefore, that De Paul could honour his friend with a goal worthy of Messiās on-field brilliance.
